Engineering Calculation for the Addition of Caustic to Tank 241-AN-102 [electronic resource]
A chemical thermodynamic model was used to estimate the effect of adding caustic to the waste in AN-102. The results show that the density will remain above 1.41 g/mL. Approximately 25% of the solids will redissolve. This is no indication that the waste will change to a form that will trap gas.
