Important subquestions were whether it was desirable to provide basic theory in the concepts of NUSTEP (Nebraska University Secondary Education Program--a pre-student teaching, competency-based program) prior to field experiences and whether basic skill competencies should be demonstrated in simulated experiences prior to field experiences. Results of the research are presented in a series of tables. Conclusions are drawn for each hypothesis and recommendations for field experiences are made. (DDO)
