War Office, Williamsburg, November 11, 1779 [microform] : The appointment of a clothier having in some measure altered the arrangements of the clothing department in this state, the whole direction of which was vested in the commissary of stores, it becomes necessary to delineate and ascertain the several respectiye [sic] duties appertaining to their several offices.
