    Ships Pique, Inconstant, &c. Returns to two orders of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 7 & 11 March 1839;--for, copy of reports of senior officers on the sailing qualities of Her Majesty's ships Pique and Inconstant, of Vanguard, Pembroke and Bellerophon, of Rodney and Vanguard, during their respective trial cruizes; and also, Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Paget's reports of trials between Her Majesty's ships Pique and Inconstant, in November and December 1836:--of reports of Captain Lord John Hay on trial of sailing qualities between Her Majesty's ships Pique and Castor in 1835:--of report of Sir J. G. Bremer on trial of sailing qualities between Her Majesty's ships Castor, Pique and Inconstant, 3 July 1837:--return of expense of building the hulls of the above-named ships:--also, list of defects to be made good, as given by the boatswains and carpenters of said ships on coming into port after each trial cruize. Copies of reports from Captain Boxer on the Pique, since he has had the command of that ship; also, from Captain Pring on the Inconstant (excepting those included in the returns already laid before Parliament); with statements of the quantity of provisions and water those ships stowed, and of the number of troops conveyed in them to North America, and reports of both ships' defects during 1837 and 1838:--of report from the Commander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean on the Vanguard; also, of Admiral Bouverie's report on the Vanguard:--of Captain Herbert and Commander Preston's reports of trials between the Vestal, Calliope and Electra:--of reports on the qualities of the new class of packets;--of Commander Henderson's report on the qualities of the Columbine:--of reports received from Lord John Hay on the Gorgon, dated November and December 1838, and January 1839:--of reports of the sailing qualities of the undermentioned ships, between the dates specified against their names; viz.
