Summary: | The catalogue that accompanies the exhibition "While there is time - João Farkas" which represents a visual biography of Brazil and portrays the photographer's 40-year career, with a selection and organization of images that invite us to reflect on the destiny he is giving to the national fauna and flora. I"While there is time -João Farkas" includes 44 photographs, 13 by São Paulo photographer João Farkas, produced between 1979 and 2022; and 31 by participants in Olga's artistic photography cultural workshops, held at partner institutions between April and June 2023 in the Olhares para o Brasil- João Farkas project, carried out by the Culture Incentive Law. The exhibition takes place from August 5th to 25th at MIS, an institution of the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the State of São Paulo. Debora Hermann, artistic curator of the exhibition and of Olga, notes that the show features photographs that portray Brazilian nature through the eyes of João and the participants of Olga's cultural workshops. According to Silvia Liz, coordinator of the arts department at the Olga Kos Institute, the exhibition seeks to contribute to preserving the memory of nationally and internationally renowned artists in the field of Brazilian photography, such as João Farkas. "With the event, we continue to be committed to the mission of promoting the inclusion of people with and without disabilities in cultural activities through workshops and training," emphasizes Liz. |
