520 3 |a The effect of monomethylhydrazine (MMH) on the in vitro frog cornea was studied. Parameters examined were corneal transparency, membrane potential difference (P.D.), and chloride transport as evidenced by the short-circuit current. MMH caused a diminution in the transparency, a decrease in the short-circuit current, and a fall in the tissue P.D. These effects were slightly ameliorated by subsequent treatment of the tissue with arginine.
