Description
Summary:This volume reflects the present state of the study of the Mediterranean as carried out by the Italian scientific community. The papers published in this book have been selected among the communications presented at the First National Congress of Marine Sciences organized by CoNISMa in cooperation with the Italian Association of Oceanography and Limnology (AIOL), the Italian Society of Marine Biology (SIBM) and the Italian Society of Ecology (SItE). The works collected in this volume, after being refereed by senior scientists for different fields of marine research, have been grouped on the basis of the cultural areas corresponding to their contents. However, it is worth underlining that the multidisciplinary character of the papers in this volume creates different "transversal" reading and clustering possibilities that the informed reader is free to design and undertake autonomously.
