Cello suites, BWV 1007-1012 [electronic resource] / Johann Sebastian Bach.

Historical and iconographic evidence suggests that the Bach suites and other violoncello parts were intended to be performed on the viola or violoncello da spalla, which is played across the arm, rather than between the legs as with the modern violoncello.
