This work is divided into two volumes, each with numerous tables and figures, along with appendices containing a glossary, mathematics primer, heat engine descriptions, and nuclear energy discussion. Volume 1 (Energy, Society, and the Environment) deals with energy and its relationship with conservation, the environment, the economy, and strategies for energy conservation.
