A series of tasks have been developed and studied which attempt to measure the individual's information processing capacity as well as his susceptibility to performance degradation resulting from the introduction of interfering stimuli. Data suggest performance on these tasks to be highly dependent on individual differences, therefore, making them good candidates for use as tools in the investigation of information processing skills in flying training. Implications for direct application to flying training research are discussed. (Author/DGC)
