520 |a K-MUST, Kansas Manpower Utilization System for Training, provides an information base and management tools to be used by occupational education planners and administrators to optimize the societal and student benefits received from the expenditure of vocational monies. This first part of a two part report describes techniques used to develop, process, and analyze data. The system is designed in an integrated modular format in which many of the modules are independent systems. Sixteen modules are included. Information on each varies from simply a description of the module to a detailed description including information on data collection, preparation, and outputs; computer software; and procedures. The modules are: student accounting system, non-public supply, demand, placement, upgrading training needs projection, cost/benefit, potential student, student interest, physical facility, disadvantaged and handicapped, interfacing, interstate coordination, optimum program mix, program application evaluation, Kansas vocational education budgeting, and data dissemination and feedback. Extensive use is made of figures and tables. Appended materials include three types of codes, definitions, and related aids for teachers. (AG)
