Repeated measures analyses of variance were used to compare changes in rate and comprehension during an eight week rapid reading program with three groups of students: those instructed by a rapid reading specialist or by their classroom teacher trained by the specialist, and a control group. Results indicated that reading rate of fifth graders significantly improved after instruction by either the specialist or the teacher. Comprehension of fifth and seventh graders did not increase significantly after instruction. (Author) | ||
