Description
Summary:This book assists the supervising teacher in working with a student teacher. It provides basic guidelines for employment in the process of supervision. The content of the book is a compilation of questions asked by supervising teachers at professional meetings, in courses on the techniques of supervision, and during individual conferences with the authors. Each chapter and section within a chapter may be considered independently according to the interests or needs of the reader. The book deals with normal activities and processes of student teaching experiences. Eighty case studies help the reader focus on individual problems. For each case study, possible solutions and alternatives are provided for consideration and discussion. Worksheets include a final checklist for preparation for a student teacher, a checklist for the first few days of student teaching, suggested experiences for a total student teaching program, a student teacher visitation request, an activity profile for use in student teacher analysis, and a form for written communication.
