Summary:Information, plans, and activities are provided for educators' use in helping students develop the skills and strategies needed to prepare for careers. Suggestions are offered at levels for elementary through secondary school covering topics from career awareness and exploration through job skills and job search strategies. Fourteen new lesson plans, added since the previous edition, cover subjects in areas of career planning, decision making, job-seeking skills, work values, cost of working, career days, and networking. Several new activities are provided for self-assessment, career exploration, education and training, and job search sections. Additional resources added include "Parents are Partners," publications, publishers, and resources on the Internet. The "National Career Development Guidelines" and information concerning workshops for school personnel to support school and classroom use of the "Career Choices" tabloid and the "User's/Resource Guide" are included.
