Summary:Reported are the results of a survey on preservice secondary mathematics teacher education in the United States conducted by the Commission on the Education of Teachers of Mathematics of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The Commission surveyed over 350 teacher education institutions in the United States. The purpose of the survey was to ascertain the status of preservice mathematics teacher education programs in North America. The document contains the survey instrument and reports the frequency of each response on each item.
