Summary:This curriculum manual on Alcohol and Alcohol Safety is designed as a teacher's guide for senior high level students. The topics it covers are: (1) safety; (2) attitudes toward alcohol and reasons people drink; (3) physical and behavioral effects; (4) alcohol industry; (5) interpersonal situations; (6) laws and customs; and (7) problem drinking and alcoholism. Each topic is divided into a number of activities. Each activity is a self-contained learning experience which requires varying numbers of class periods, and focuses on one or more objectives. The particular skills developed by the activity, as well as methods for evaluating it, are provided. Activities are also organized by teaching method: art, audiovisual, debates, discussion, drama, independent study, lectures, reading, science, and writing. (BP)
