Data collected from 1,083 randomly selected adults living in telephone-and-television households assessed satisfaction with programming by both public and commercial television stations and examined respondents' comments regarding the quantity and subject matter of programming. In addition, a discussion is provided of the possibility for "mapping," or delineating audience preferences for one type of programming which extend to other types of programming. Appendixes include a description of evaluation methodology and a copy of the questionnaire used in the investigation. (KS)
