The legislation considered would entitle employees to up to 10 weeks leave over a 2-year period to care for a newborn or newly adopted child or to care for the employee's child or parent who has a serious health condition. Employees would be able to take up to 15 weeks leave per year if they are unable to perform their jobs because of a serious health condition. (CML)
