Description
Summary:Based on two surveys of Association of Research Libraries member libraries which were conducted in 1987 and 1988, this report begins with an overview of the responses from 48 libraries that had participated in development or fund raising campaigns within the past three years. Areas covered by the survey include library staffing and support, library-university relations, campaign strategies, and elements for success and needs. A brief report on the surveys is then presented, followed by a collection of materials submitted by participating libraries. These materials are divided into four categories: (1) Staffing and Organization; (2) Presentations and Activity Reports; (3) Targeted Gifts; and (4) Campaigns and Endowments. These materials were contributed by the University of British Columbia, University of California-Los Angeles, University of California-San Diego, University of Illinois, Iowa State University, University of Kentucky, McMaster University, University of Manitoba, Newberry Library, New York Public Library, University of Oregon, Pennsylvania State University, Southern Illinois University, Stanford University, Texas A&M University, University of Texas-Austin, University of Toronto, and University of Waterloo.
