Description
Summary:This booklet introduces readers--particularly women--to some jobs that use mathematical training, in laboratories, computer centers, universities, insurance companies, and government offices. Based on information from women working in mathematics-related fields, it is designed to help women consider various career choices. Sections focus on careers with computers, engineering, finance, teaching, research mathematics, and statistics. Some types of careers within each category are described, with comments on the roles of particular women and quotations from women in that field highlighting aspects of their jobs. A list of names and addresses of women who answered the questionnaires is included, with the suggestion that they could be contacted, and organizations to contact for additional information on mathematics-related careers are also listed.
