Description
Summary:Based on data from site visits to local educational agencies and area vocational technical schools, this report details an evaluation of Georgia's vocational programs. The report is presented in two sections with identical formats. Section 1 contains an analysis of data from secondary programs, while section 2 focuses on data from postsecondary programs. Each section first summarizes conclusions regarding philosophy and purpose, organization and administration, annual and long-range planning, educational programs, physical facilities, community relations, vocational guidance, and placement and followup. Additional postsecondary topics concern staff; learning resource centers; financial resources; equipment, supplies, and instructional materials; and student personnel services. Recommendations are then presented. Tables show team members' responses to the standards and their associated criteria; frequencies of responses are given in percentages. The degree of change in the percentage of "yes" responses is indicated. Computer-generated program improvement profile means (ratings on program effectiveness) are also recorded. A thematic summary of team recommendations and suggestions follow each standard. Competency graphs (frequencies of "yes" responses in percentage form) are depicted for each major service area. Each section concludes with results of over 1,000 questionnaires that evaluated reactions of site team members and system personnel to the evaluation experience and assessment guides. (YLB)
