| Summary: | Twenty-nine professional educators at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and post-graduate students of educational administration participated in a study to identify trends in education based on change in the society and the environment. Researchers used a modification of Delphi Technique, an intuitive method for organizing and sharing the forecasts of experts. The study revealed several trends, including increasing enrollments, a demand for educational institutions to participate in Mexico's modernization, and vast unemployment coupled with drastic inflation. The author projects that conditions related to demographic and economic factors will be ameliorated as Mexicans accept the need for birth control and as newly developed oil resources bring economic growth. He also sees the government's global development plan as beneficial to the educational system of the future. (Author/WD) |
