Description
Summary:This science curriculum guide for grades K-6 is designed to provide a balance between an understanding of the concepts of science and the development of skills such as observation and classification. It is also designed to help Manitoba schools develop their elementary science programs by providing: (1) a basic core of 32 units which present a sequenced development of concepts and skills, (2) optional units and objectives which provide flexibility to the program, and (3) a listing of recommended materials coordinated for use with core topics. The 32 core topics are outlined in detail together with objectives for students, sample activities, and suggestions for integrating science with other subjects. (Author/CS)
