Description
Summary:The La Colina Teacher Center had a live-in supervisor who taught part of the day and worked in teacher education part of the day. The general goals for this unique situation were to: 1) increase the contact the supervisor had with student teachers and cooperating teachers, 2) better integrate the student teachers into $he school's program, 3) increase the faculty's appreciation of the student teachers, and 4) provide the student teachers with a wider range of educational experiences than they would have otherwise had. Results of a questionnaire sent to participating student teachers indicated that they found the situation positive. Supervisors and cooperating teachers also benefitted. The La Colina Center model provided not only an excellent setting for teaching trainees but also the potential for upgrading and renewing teacher educators' effectiveness. (CJ)
