Summary:This publication summarizes the responses of the State University of New York (SUNY) constituent institutions to the 1994 Attrition/Retention Survey and includes details of racial and ethnic composition, partial history of later cohorts as of fall 1994, and trends in attrition and retention among various groups from fall 1977 through fall 1994. The study's basic approach was a cohort survival analysis. The report is organized into four parts. Part 1 provides attrition, retention and graduation data for the following full-time student groups enrolled in SUNY Baccalaureate Degree Programs: full-time, first-time students entering in fall 1988 through 1993; full-time, first-time students entering in fall 1988 by race and ethnicity,; full-time, first-time opportunity students entering in fall 1988 by race/ethnicity; full-time, upper and lower division transfer students entering in fall 1988 through 1993; and full-time, upper and lower division transfers entering in fall 1988 by race/ethnicity. Part 2 contains similar information for students enrolled in SUNY Associate Degree Programs. Part 3 includes SUNY Baccalaureate Trend information for full-time, first-time students, classes of fall 1977 through fall 1994. Part 4 provides SUNY Associate Degree trend information for full-time, first-time students, classes of fall 1977 through fall 1994. Also included is information on SUNY institutions.
