Summary:This issue of the "MCH Program Interchange" describes selected materials and publications in maternal and child health (MCH) nutrition services and programs. The materials were developed by or are available from federal agencies, state and local public health agencies, and voluntary and professional organizations. The information is intended to encourage communication and stimulate the planning, development, and provision of improved nutrition services to MCH populations. Information is included on several landmark publications such as "Healthy Children 2000,""Healthy Communities 2000,""Improving America's Diet and Health," and "Second Follow-up Report to the Surgeon General's Workshop on Breastfeeding and Human Lactation." Other publications cover such topics as human immunodeficiency virus, nutrition during pregnancy, breastfeeding, feeding special children, cystic fibrosis nutrition, heart disease, food safety, microcomputer software, insurance coverage, cholesterol, osteoporosis, and food and drug interactions. The goals and activities of the Maternal and Child Health Interorganizational Nutrition Group are also described. (JDD)
