Description
Summary:The success of 1989 graduates of seven New Hampshire postsecondary technical education institutions was identified in this study. The group was composed of 459 men and 502 women. Of the group, 745 graduates (76 percent) went directly to full-time employment and 36 (4 percent) to part-time employment, with 95 percent in jobs directly related to their major. Continuing their full-time education at another college were 108 graduates (11 percent). Of the graduates who entered the job market, 622 (83 percent) took jobs within New Hampshire and 664 (89 percent) could commute to their new job from their home. Nursing provided the largest single group of graduates with 190 individuals graduated from the registered nurse and practical nurse programs. Over 50 programs were offered at the institutions to reflect the employment needs of the state. Many placements were obtained as a result of the lifetime placement services provided at each of the seven institutions. Other placements resulted from continuation of former or current work-related associations. (The document includes data tables on placements and salaries, specific data from each of the seven institutions, a listing of the collegiate institutions to which graduates transferred, and a listing of employers who hired 1989 graduates.)
