Margo Machida

Margo Machida is an American art historian, curator, cultural critic, and artist.

Machida is a Professor of Art History and Asian and Asian American Studies at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. Her book, ''Unsettled Visions: Contemporary Asian American Artists and the Social Imaginary'', (Duke University Press, 2009) was awarded the Cultural Studies Book Award from the Association for Asian American Studies in 2011. In 2003 she co-edited the book, ''Fresh Talk/Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art'', published by the University of California Press. She was a co-founder of Godzilla, an arts advocacy organization for Asian American artists. Machida curated the exhibition, ''Icons of Presence: Asian American Activist Art'' presented at the Chinese Cultural Center in San Francisco, California.
